am I crazy or did I miss something, Could be both......
what do I do now to get Radius on NBM3.9?
BTW I have NW6.5.6, and NBM3.9 running very nicely, but now I need to look
at getting RADIUS to work. are there other way to get RADIUS functionality
on NW, say for the new 802.x issues?
Yes.

You have to get it from 3.8. Novell doesn't support RADIUS, and they did
not want to provide it with 3.9 and get put in the position of possibly
having to support it in the years to come.

I have a short guide for sale on implementing NMAS RADIUS (see URL below),
but you won't get it to work with new 802.x issues (if you mean wireless
authentication), because it was never designed for that. Novell recommends
you use FreeRadius on Linux for that. (I'm planning on adding that to my
RADIUS guide once I get time).

I think it would be more accurate to say it can use eDirectory to authenticate
the users, and that it has more capability than NMAS RADIUS (specifically that
it can handle wireless authentication methods you probably want to use).

Yes, I think you can point FreeRadius to another box to authenticate to, or to
a SLES box running eDirectory. (I'm going to update my NMAS RADIUS guide at
some point in the next few months to include a description on using FreeRadius
to authenticate wireless users to eDir, but I've not gotten started on that
yet).
