I have a question as to how to check to see / verify that logging is set up
for Radius service on our bordermanager 3.7 server.

I inherited this server, and know very little to nothing about BM in
general. I have to assume that logging is set up, as i found proxy logs
from when we still used BM for our proxy. Any sort of idea as to where to
look? Also, I cant seems to find any BM pluggins for console one, but have
them for NW admin, do they not exist for console one (like NDPS?)?

Hi Hector,

The logging for Radius is by default on and is minimal.
Log file is written to sys:\etc\radius\log directory
If you want to see more details you can give the console command radius
debuglog on which writes to sys:\etc\radius\debug directory.
with radius debug on command you get an extra screen.

For snapins it might be dependend which version of radius you are running
the bmas one or the nmas version of Radius.
Check the radius module and let me know what version you are using.

No idea here, no bmas* seemed to be loaded and no nma* either, found these.

If you have the BM 3.7 version of RADIUS, I think you have the BMAS version.
(Which I think also requires a license, which might be a way to confirm you
have that version). The BMAS version is configured with NWADMN32, while
the later (NMAS) version is configured with ConsoleOne. Many of the
settings are the same between versions (except using ConsoleOne/NWADMN32),
but the NMAS version has additional requirements to be done in the login
policy.

Anyway... the NMAS version is free, and comes with BorderManager 3.8. If
you can download an eval version of 3.8 (or you have a non-eval version),
you can use the RADIUS in there. As far as documentation, besides what
Novell has online, I have a short guide for sale at my web site (see URL
below).

Hector,

If you want you can also have a look at TID3008272 and 10078616 which
describes the way to install and configure the NMAS version of Radius
In case of problems just drop another post.

Hi Hector,

You are running the bmas version at the moment.
