tried over on the client forum...no answer.

so here goes:

I've seen many threads about how the radius server that comes w/
Bordermanager won't work for wireless authentication, use freeradius on
linux, etc, etc etc. (I don't *have* a linux box, thankyou! ;)

found this TID: 10098699

-goal:
can a wireless access point (WAP) use Bordermanager and RADIUS for
Wireless authentication?

fact:
NBM 3.8

Fix:

Yes, any Wireless Access Point (WAP) can use RADIUS for wireless
authentication, as long as it is RADIUS enabled.-

what am I not getting??
Is the TID wrong? I notice that it doesn't say "802.1x"
anywhere...perhaps that part isn't actually necessary??

There is RADIUS, and there are newer extensions to RADIUS that are not
included in NMAS RADIUS.

If you are simply passing a user ID and password to a RADIUS server,
NMAS RADIUS can work. You can set it up and test it with NTRADPING.
(I have a short guide at the URL below detailing how to configure NMAS
RADIUS).

If you are trying to use the newer eap/leap functions, NMAS RADIUS
doesn't support it. I think that is where the 802.x stuff comes into
play.
