Is there any software which gives a funtionality for Novell ftp like
AuthentiX (www.flicks.com) to IIS? What I am looking for is an
username/password authentication to web users from outside for offerring
individual downloads.

Hallo,
you can do this with the FTP Server from Novell (which is also in the
box of NW 5.1).
There it is possible to create user home directories (like the netware
user) for each user where the user had to authenticate to.

Alois,

is it possible to setup NW 5.1 FTP server on one machine and using directories
on another server? Or is it possible using many directories on various servers
with only one login account?

Thanks in advance,

as far as I have found you get nds authenticated and the default directory is your
homedir, even if it is on a different server in the same tree of course.

a "pwd" shows like " /servername/volumename/subdir1/subdir2 "
