Installed a Compaq Proliant 7000 with a Quantum DLT4000. Everything
was going swimingly until some odd errors during the Arcserve backup
started appearing. (Invalid stream signature, Invalid header, CRC
errors, etc.) Cold booted and the problems seemed to go away. Ran
multiple clean backup and restores. Now after a full backup is kicked
off, we received a a8 error. Backup still ran and we were able to
backup the directory again. I have seen all the references to the
Novell patch file, but when we spoke with a tech at Novell last week,
they had not heard of it and I cannot find it anywhere. We are using
the CANWPABD files because the nwaspi and dltape would not work.
Any suggestions on when that file will be released and if it will solve
these sporadic problems.
Thank you,

Make sure DLTTAPE.CDM is never loaded in your configuration. DLTTAPE.CDM
is only for Novel's backup, but it will cause problems when it is loaded
together with third party backup solutions. Make sure Netware does not
load it automatically. Best is to make sure that neither the files
NWTAPE.CDM no DLTTAPE.CDM exist in c:\nwserver
