I have a 3.12 patched to 3.2 enh with 3 mirrored volumes that does not
have LFN support. The users are pressing for a volume with LFN support
(they say gee, why don't you run an NT server like blablabla!!!). I see
quite a bit of bad things about LFN, and am resisting. Any comments on
this?? Also, I cannot seem to find a good reference source on how to
enable LFN support (The clients are Win9x and WinNT). Thanks for any
input here!!

You have the current LFN files from the 3.2 kit. The only issue about long file name
support is that it takes more server memory to support and takes some additional space on
each volume.

Setting it up is quite simple:

LOAD OS2
Add name space OS2 to sys (or whatever volume).

Hi Martin,

The LFN support has not a single bug that I'm aware of "IF" you use the
latest os2.nam and have a sufficient amount of memory to support it.

Thanks for the information!! I had tried without success with 3.11,
but everything worked fine now with 3.2
