Greetings

I hope this list hasn't gone dead.

I had to un-mirror a pair of 6.2Gb drives with volumes SYS and VAULT

Nothing special just always call the data storage area VAULT and all
printservers are called SCRIBE-n

Anyway I then installed a 10Gb hard drive and attempted to re-mirror.

Nothing I tried worked. Created partition equal in size on new drive and
later one slightly larger expecting that it would adjust it size like I have
seen it do before.

BTW I have always had trouble mirroring.

Hardware is SOYO 6BA+IV motherboard and P-III-650E processor with 256MB RAM.

Patch level is current "D" IIRC and all the Y2K patches. long file names
is installed on the VAULT volume but not the SYS.

Any ideas?

Did you install one or a pair of 10 gig drives?

Just one.

Have done this before and it will question you about changing the partition
size.

This time it would not ask the OK to change the partition.

This server is actually a backup and is stored off site with CD-R backups in
case of fire / theft/ etc.

Client is a retail merchant and would need to be back up and running within
two days.

Aggreed to run it un-mirrored as he is going to update the backup server and
it's two POS workstations in near future.

Thanks

Hugh
