Hello everbody,

ißm just trying to install a 3COM NIC (type 3c905b combo), in a
customers servers, but i don´t manage it. The driver for the NIC
doesn´t want to start.

I´m always receving a message which mens that there are some
undefind symbols. I have already made an update from 3.12 to 3.2 so
that all servicepacks should be installed. nwpa.nlm is also
installed (needed for the adaptec u2w scsi controller which is
working fine), but the nic driver doesn´t.

I´ve tried out the driver delivered whith the nic @ the end of the
last year (i think version 4.01) and also the actual one, but
always the same: CAN´T FIND PUBLIC SYMBOL (starting with the
msm.nlm module).

if anybody knows how to install this nic i would be very glad to
hear how.

Thanx

Hi,

Try loading the odi update and see what happens. Should work.

Since you have the updated server.exe in place (you need that for NWPA to play), I suspect
it's a case of using the wrong Ethertsm, NBI31X, and MSM31x files.

The correct ones are in the ODI33G.EXE download.

Make sure to rename the old versions (which are likely to be in either your C:\server.312
directory or your Sys:\system directory).

Also, rename any MSM.NLM and NBI.NLM files you might have running loose.
