I have not seen an update for the Inoculan/InoculateIT virus signature
file for MW 2.6 in months from Novell. Have they dropped support for
the updates? If so are they now supporting something else such as NAV i
MW 2.7, or do I have to get further updates from CAI?

Novell knows who they licensed this product to. Why didn't they make
an effort to inform us that they were ceasing to support this product?
Telling people who finally ask the right question in a formum that you
are no longer supporting it, does not motivate me to recommend Novell
products to my company in the future. Please pass my disappointment
with Novell's performance in this regard on to anyone who might give a
damn.

Hi,

Does this mean that support has been dropped for this product without
any major statement? I have a customer that is looking for the virus
files and doesn't know how to implement the ones from support.cai.com
site?

Regards.

Actually it was trailed pretty heavily and there were a few fights about
MW moving to use the costly McAffee stuff. Quite a few of us were already
using the CAI site as the updates there were available quicker than the
MW2.6 specific ones

Cheers Dave

Basically once the AV stuff is installed you use the standard Inoculate
update procedures. Try

I only run the baby version on the server, the one that comes with
Arcserve, and that is only there to link to the backups. I don't actually
have any active scanning going on, so I haven't seen any problems with
it.

Also, I do use the cron/toolbox combo to clear down all deleted files
over 14 days old, if the server doesn't beat me to it that is :-)
