3Com Transcend Enterprise Manager 6.1 and ManageWise

I would like to know if it is possible to integrate the two and manage
my 3com switches (Switch II 3300's) from ManageWise. Right now
ManageWise detects the ip addresses of the Switches but doesn't know
what they are or how to manage them. Thanks in advance.

You would need to contact 3COM, however, I suspect that they will tell
you that they do not offer such integration of the two products.

I'm sure they do, but that won't give you the ability to manage them or
integrate Transcend with ManageWise.

Do you have the mibs for the 3com devices? If so, have you compiled
them into MW?

I have a few 3com mibs compiled in MW 2.7. As long as you can tell the
3com device where to send traps (i.e., the management console) and if
the console can interpret the traps received, it should work. As far
as manageability I'm not too sure unless an HMI (Hub Management
Interface) exists for the device.

I too, and having headaches over the 3COM stuff. We have 3300's, 1100's,
and 1000 3COM switches. I can manage the 3300's and 1100's through
the Web interface, or with Transcend. I have downloaded and recompiled
"3COM" mibs from just about everywhere, (and still get a blank screen
when I click on them in the network map. I even
upgraded the 1100 to the latest (2.52) software revision thinking
the mib wouldn't work unless I was at the latest revision on the switch.
Still no luck. Left work today thinking that I'm gonna have to use
Transcend in the intrium.... 3COM is probably on its way out in favor
of something that's HMI compliant!
