Hi There!

One of our suppliers mail servers (any guesses what it was) got a
message stuck in its queue and send us we estimate (given that the
gw554 client can only see 5000) 60-80,000 messages. They are obviously
identical but deleting them has taken 3 days so far without any sign
of the end. We have tried running the GWCheck with the itempurg switch
in use, and its deleting items at the rate of 1 every 20-30 seconds,
which potentially could take a month.

We set a rule on exit to delete all items in the received folder which
matches the subject, but even that seems incredibly slowly. Is there a
better way. No way can we delete the mailbox. How can I improve the
performance of groupwise, for deleting and archiving? Faster disks in
the server? Its a 100MB Switched Network.

could someone tell me what the disk caching settings and also the
threads setting? will increasing these increase the performance of
archiving and deleting messages?
