Forwarding Attachments in GroupWise

When user forwards an email message received from an external source
that contains an attachment to another external recipient, the
attachment gets somehow put as code into the body of the message. This
happens regardless of attached file type (has happened with WPD, DOC,
XLS, and QPW), and regardless of eventual recipient. Re-installed GW
client, problem persists. If user creates a document or receives a
document from an INTERNAL source, it can be forwarded without
problems. The problem only happens when FORWARDING an EXTERNALLY
created document from an EXTERNAL source to an EXTERNAL recipient.
Looked on support.novell.com, found possible indications of MIME
problems, but none of the symptoms match. Checked for Windows
Messaging, not installed.
