How does one subscribe to the novell.support.* groups? Giganews does not
appear to carry them. What is the server name/ip? are they public
groups?

Novell have their own news server at support-forums.novell.com. You
can access it over NNTP with a news reader, or you can use the web
browser to access it through a web interface. See
http://support.novell.com/forums for details.
Generally, you should avoid accessing the novell enwsgroup from non
Novell news servers as Novell does not have ogfficial feeds with
usenet and therefore messages not posted on the Novell server may
never be visible on the Novell server.
