Following the upgrade of NDS4NT from v2.0 to 2.01 on our PDC, our domain has
fallen over and none of the servers are acting as domain controllers.

We are going to have to rebuild the PDC which is also our exchange server-
We have backups of Exchange etc but how can we easily recreate the NT
accounts? Is there a way to import the NT account info that is still in the
NDS back into user manager for domains?

For more info on our configuration, see my posts from 12/6/2000 and
11/30/2000,
thanks

Remco,

You can use a NT ERD in conjunction with the Novell NDS4NTER utility.
This utility will re-establish the link between the PDC and the NDS
domain object. See TID 2937215.

If you have a functional BDC, you can promote it to PDC while you
rebuild the PDC. Setup the PDC as a BDC, restore your data, then
promote it back to PDC.
Do you believe the NDS4NT upgrade is the cause of the problem? What
exactly happened? Have you opened a incident with Novell support?

Good Luck,

Yes problem was caused by running upgrade from 2.0 to 2.01 on PDC - the
domain still existed but none of the DCs were acting as such - they all
"thought" they were member servers.

We have with some assistance from Compaq/Novell uninstalled NDS4NT on the
PDC which has returned the domain to a workable state.
