New PDC hardware

I am currently running NDS for NT and also in the process of upgrading the
PDC hardware. Can I build the new PDC and bring it into the domain as
another BDC. Then promote the BDC after installing the NDS for NT. What
would be the best / safest way of upgrading the haredware and minimal down
time? The NT Domain is in it own context. I did purchase the logisource from
the Novell website. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
