Hi,

we have a product relying on an Active Directory (2003) for user
authentication. For customers not having an AD in place but a LDAP
(Sun, Novell, Open LDAP, etc.) this is getting an issue. Does someone
know if the well known LDAP vendors have some tools they ship with
their products to establish at least a one way replication for user and
group accounts and the user passwords. The direction must be from the
LDAP to the AD.
The replication should include:
- adding / removing users
- adding / removing groups
- modifying user and groups attributes
- replicating passwords

At least the password replication should be done immediately. The
replication of the other stuff could be done in batch mode.

Does someone know tools or commercial products (cheap ones) for
replicating OpenLDAP objects to other LDAPs (and AD of course)?

What are the implications that can arise when having a replication?
What needs to be done before on the AD or LDAP side e.g. because of the
different object classes of AD.

I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

Jürgen

Coosile,

You posted to a dead newsgroup which is no longer part of the official
Novell support hierarchy. I suggest you visit
http://support.novell.com/forums and post to one of the official
Novell newsgroups.
