CLA is the entry level certification; CLP is the higher level.

If you visit http://www.novell.com/training/certinfo/clp and look at the
CLP11 learning path, you'll see that the CLA10 and CLA11 are prerequisite
to the CLP11.

I'm biased myself (as a Novell employee who works in the training
department), but I find the materials to be good - they are definitive
when it comes to being used to prepare for the exams, because the
objectives are pulled from the official course materials.

There are older course materials from a company called Course
Technologies that cover the CLP9 certification - they are used typically
in academic settings, and so there is some expanded coverage. I believe
(but will have to check when I'm back at work tomorrow) they are being
updated for the SLE11 certifications. You might find those materials
available through normal book retailers as well.

I should also mention that there is a fundamental difference in testing
methodology for these two certifications; the Admin certification is what
we call a 'traditional' or 'forms-based' exam - it's delivered by Pearson/
VUE and consists of question/answer scenarios (multiple choice, fill-in-
the-blank, etc). The CLP is a practical exam in which you are given
tasks to complete and you complete them on remote systems and then are
graded on how you complete the tasks given.
