drive mapping problem

I don't know much about novell so any help would be appreciated.

We have a product that crawls documents and indexes them for knowledge
management purposes. The way it is set up is that user specifies
which of her folders on her pc or home drive she would like crawled.
The path is sent to a crawling server which connects "crawls" the
specified paths.

We have a pliot at a client who is running novell either 100% 4.12 or
5 (im not sure).
I understand we have to put on 32 bit client to our nt servers.
However what i'm confused about it how mapping takes place in novell?
In nt we have a function that basically tells us unc path of nt drive
mapping. If a win98 or win 2k workstation has 32bit novell client that
has home directory mapped to novell server. Can we just go to dos
prompt and do a net use command to \\novell server\share name to
connect to that specified home directory (assuming we have the rights)
or do i have to do something else?
