mathalfa problem

Hello professor, I just downloaded the latest version (4.2.1) and I'm getting this error:

"! LaTeX Error: File `mathalfa.sty' not found.Type X to quit or <RETURN> to proceed,or enter new name. (Default extension: sty)Enter file name:! Emergency stop.<read > ...tyles/\novathesis@opt@fontstyle.clo}{}{}"

both in TexStudio and Texmaker. I manually downloaded the mathalfa and mathalpha files and put them into the styles folder but it didn't work. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm assuming the error is with MikTeX!

You need to update the MikTeX system:

I updated everything with MikTex console (version 2.9.7076).

Now I get a different error: "File `substr.sty' not found. \RequirePackage{substr}[2009/10/20]"
