Add mini table of contents in each chapter

Hi there,
I'm helping a friend in writing her MSc Thesis and she wanted a mini table of contents at the beginning of each chapter.
She wanted something like this: https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/3001/list-sections-of-chapter-at-beginning-of-that-chapter
I've tried several workarounds in template.tex and novathesis.cls but I'm not able to make it work. Is it possible for anyone to help me on this improvement?

Hi Diogo,
Did you try any of these suggestions:
In particular, did you try to load the "mtcpatchmem.sty" package?
