Hey Dwayne,
I haven't had any issues with any distribution of J!5, but mine are all updates. I have not tried standing-up a new site with 5.4.1. I do know that the last time I tried to update to J!6, Gantry had some major issues with it. I am wondering if those have been resolved yet or if the new "owner" of that code is even maintaining it.
I am cool with meeting on the 15th.

Hey y'all, I hope everyone is doing well.We have missed some gatherings and was wondering if you all wanted to Pow Wow on Monday December 15, 2025?I launched a Joomla 5 site that blew up. I don't have access to server, so it was hard to try to diagnose. I have to go back to an Akeeba restore from a month and half back. Really left me worrying about the site.Hoping no one else has had any issues.-Dwayne

I can meet either Monday the 15th or the 22nd.No issues with Joomla 5 upgrades here. I’ve even done a couple of sites that started in Joomla 1.5 that I’ve upgraded version after version since. There have been nuanced issues, but all overcomable. Using a template that’s Joomla 3, 4, and 5 compatible greatly reduces the workload. Then again, clients might want a new design if going from Joomla 3.Best practice is always to have a backup (or two) just prior to upgrading, and then definitely review the upgrade checklist. Some of the items *can* be false positives, which in my experience has been mostly the case with warnings. It’s still good to consider them, tho.One thing I got in the habit of doing was to uninstall Akeeba (FOF, and all of that), and re-install it on the upgraded site. I just ran into one-too-many migration issues with Akeeba, so that’s what I do now, remove Akeeba, upgrade, re-install/configure Akeeba. Just make sure to download the backups first so that uninstalling doesn’t wipe them out. :)Frankee
I overlooked the meeting for the 22. I can do the 22.I just didn't want to miss you again.I can share more details on the 22 of what happened. The big issue for me I don't control the hosting, so I am often flying blind when it comes to files and database.-Dwayne
