Gantry error: Class "Leafo\ScssPhp\Type" not found

I ran into a Gantry error upgrading a site on Joomla 4 at HostGator in preparation for moving it so that I could upgrade it to Joomla 5.

Updating the Gantry from 5.5.19 to 5.5.25 blew up with the Class "Leafo\ScssPhp\Type" not found error.  Clearing caches, etc. didn't make it go away.

I installed Gantry 5.5.23, same error.  In installed Gantry 5.5.19 and the site was back up. So I will leave it there. I don't have the versions in between.

Does anybody know what causes this?  This is on php 8.2.
