Hi,

I know from previous conversations that at least a few have expressed interest in potentially getting involved with stuff on my side of the river.  Yay! With that in mind, I suggest you have a look at the following HackPad:

https://hackpad.com/Hack-for-DC-PROJECT-PAGE-B7VlaRryZFb

Tommy Wells, who's thrown his hat in the ring for the mayoral primary, has previously posted "challenges" there, and my buddy Greg Bloom seems to be a driving force there as well.

If nothing else, there may be ways that the two groups can learn from each other. See also:

Thanks Kevin,

Code for DC is a fellow Code for America Brigade in DC. We're all part of the same family, just with our respective different local focus. I would like to have more of a connection with them at least for their specialty events (they had a very well attended women focused hackathon: http://codefordc.org/blog/2013/12/12/techlady-hackathon-recap.html ). There's only so many hours in the day, but it would have been great if we could have promoted this out to our circles.

Kevin, since you are based in DC, if you would like to act as a type of liaison between the NoVA and DC brigades, that would be awesome!

Cheers
Michelle

Yeah. That's kind of what I'm thinking. ;-) Now, I just have to do it.
