Studentswill document compliance records through Medicat, our immunization compliance partner. With Medicat, you will be able to upload immunization information, obtain immunization records, and download/upload health forms. New students will be automatically enrolled in Medicat by mid-April of their first year and will receive an email with further instructions for accessing their account. For a complete list of HSC immunization requirements, click here.

To submit documentation for immunization and screening requirements, visit unthsc.medicatconnect.com and login using your university EUID and password. Once uploaded, we will verify your entries and notify you of any non-compliance issues. View the step-by-step instructions to upload documents and view missing requirements in Medicat.

Vaccination compliance will be evaluated prior to the start date of each semester. If you have not met requirements before registration for the next semester, you will have a hold placed on your account and will not be able to register for upcoming classes unless all requirements are met. We will also perform monthly compliance audits for all students to ensure requirements are maintained throughout the year.

Student Wellness Services provides screening and assessments to all students to determine the appropriate level of care. Our Wellness Coordinators, located at each campus, are the first point of contact for student referrals and inquiries.

For students who need specialized care, Student Wellness Services provides assistance with referrals and resources. All providers who have completed step 2 interventions will provide case management services to ensure students are participating in longer-term specialized care and when appropriate will close most student cases.

Consultation is an important component of Student Wellness Services. FDU students, faculty and staff consult with our staff for many reasons. A student may recognize that a friend is experiencing distress and not know how to handle the situation. A faculty member or administrator may need guidance on how to assist a student with a mental health issue. A student may need support with medication management and administering to support a chronic disease.

Student Wellness Services staff have presented and/or coordinated a variety of programs to promote health and wellness literacy and inform the campus community about our services. During the summer, our staff participate in various new student orientations and programs including those of EOF, Latino Promise, and the Bridge Program. They also disseminate health and wellness information via table events, class presentations, student organization events such as those organized by fraternities and sororities, and workshop series sponsored by other various departments.

The Medicat patient portal can be accessed by using the same username and password that you use to access your FDU student account. If you are having technical difficulties accessing Medicat please contact the Help Desk at 973-443-8822.

MU typically likes to see students with a history of proven success in the classroom with a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5. Minimum *SAT requirement is typically an 850 (Math + Critical Reading), but other factors can be taken into consideration. A number of programs have requirements for direct entry that are higher than university minimums. We advise checking the admission requirements for your program of interest within its designated section of the website. View our list of majors to find your program. *Note: Misericordia will be Test-Optional for Fall 2021 Admissions

Misericordia offers merit-based scholarships for academics as well as community involvement, and need-based awards which can total well over $20,000 per year for qualified students. Visit our Financial Aid page to learn more.

MU has a rolling admissions cycle, but we advise that students apply early in the cycle (Fall) as the space available in certain programs can be limited. Visit our Apply page to submit an application.

The Health & Wellness Center is under the direction of a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Our staff is dedicated to the health and wellness needs of our students with our goal being to provide the best possible evidence-based health care in a manner which is competent, compassionate, confidential and timely, all within an atmosphere of mutual respect and responsibility without regard to race, gender, ethnic heritage, or sexual orientation.

The Nurse Practitioner treats acute and chronic medical conditions. All full-time undergraduates (those students registered for 12 or more credit hours) and all full-time graduate students (those students registered for eight or more hours) are eligible to use the Health Center if enrolled in Medicat.

If medically necessary, the Health & Wellness Center can approve the need for a temporary handicap parking sticker. The student must bring a note from their primary care provider (PCP) stating the medical reason as to why a handicap parking sticker is warranted. Upon approval by the Center's Director, the student will then be sent to Campus Safety where the temporary parking sticker will be issued for a maximum of 4 weeks. If longer duration is necessary the student will need to go through their PCP who will make a request to the state, on the students behalf, for a permanent handicap parking permit

Within the Health & Wellness Center there is the Self Care & Resource room. This room is designed as a teaching model in order to encourage and empower our students to be proactive with their health care needs. This room contains a plethora of up-to-date educational materials in addition to basic over-the-counter (OTC) medications and supplies - all at no cost to our students.

In addition, through a partnership with Pharmedix and several local Pharmacies, the Health Center keeps a supply of commonly used prescriptions in the clinic in order to provide convenient, prompt treatment for our students. There is a $10.00-$15.00 charge for these items.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Misericordia University has taken steps to protect the health of our students, staff, faculty and community. The Cougar Care team is carefully monitoring health conditions on campus, locally and in our region.

Please review your health insurance coverage and be sure you are covered while at school in Dallas PA, specifically Misericordia Health & Wellness Center. If your insurance does not cover you while at school you may want to consider the schools health insurance plan since the plan has a very low deductible and will cover you while at school. (Some local or out of state insurance companies may not cover your child in Dallas Pennsylvania.)

All insurance plans vary. It is the patients responsibility to know whether or not they need to obtain a referral or preauthorization for a visit. Patient will be responsible for any payments not covered by the insurance.

The Health & Wellness Center uses Medicat, a web-based system, for the collection of the required health forms. Students will have continuous access to their medical record as well as the ability to make updates when needed. There will be a one-time usage fee of $25.00 that all incoming/first year students will be required to pay. Payable by Visa, Mastercard or Discover only. Once a student has registered with Medicat they will receive their credentials and have access to the internal portal and thus have access to Medicat EHR.

These forms are a requirement for all full-time students regardless of their housing status. Timely submission of documents is vital so that preparations can be made in time for the first day of class as well as to ensure that the registration and housing process is not delayed.
