Greetings all Hackers

Seeking Advice on Replacement Key Chuck for Bosch Drill 400W PSB 400-2

I have inherited a Bosch drill with my new rented house and the key chuck is damaged which I have now removed. I am seeking advice before buying a replacement chuck, as sold by Miles Tool and Machinery Centre in Yeovil, for example.
See http://www.mtmc.co.uk/Product.aspx?ProductID=52746&strParent=search&PPGR=0

739 - KEY CHUCK Ø 1.5-10 MM. 3/8"  RRP £28.62 inc. VAT

I would be happy to buy/fit a second-hand chuck from a Bosch drill which is otherwise unuseable.

Comments welcome.

Thanks

Andrew Martin

Looks like you have all the info you need. I say go for it, worst that can happen is you waste £30 on learning to be more awesome.

Feel free to check the space for a spare. Broken drills are us!

Greetings all

I visited our much-loved Hackspace this afternoon and asked a couple of people where I might find broken drills, without any success. Michael, can you suggest an area where such items might be stored?

Thanks

Andrew

Broken drills should be at the back of the space in the donations and
scrap area.

Sorry but there aren't any.

As you're looking for just a /mechanical part/, why not try visiting a
Car-boot or the cattle market on Saturday morning when it's raining.

That should knock pounds off the cost off anything electrical?
