Wood lathe tool post?

Hello,

Is there a tool post for the wood lathe? I've never done any wood lathing (beside bodging on a polelathe). I'd like to cut equal thickness and depth concentric grooves into a wooden board and imagine a cutter that can be wound in axially would be easiest.

Or would this be easy by hand too?
