Are there any pins in the connector on the unit? If so, can we
get a close up photo?
If not, it may just be an opening to put the cable through as
James mentions.
It's an expensive lamp! Also 110V, unless the bulb has been changed for UK use.

The central terminal is Earth (green / yellow), but a better view of this diagram (without the wire obscuring part of it) would help to confirm the Live (brown) / Neutral (blue) terminals ...
However, you need to re-terminate your cable as the insulation is damaged. This is a potential safety / fire hazard ...
