Look at the attached file. I try to choose the music folder on my phone's drive as the music location on device, but i can't press ok. If i try to select a folder on my computer, it will let me press ok.

I have the same issue on a Samsung S3 with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

I think this is because with the current versions of Android the device is attached as a portable media device and not in Mass Storage mode - so it no longer appears as a drive letter that iTunes Agent/Notpod works with.

There is other similar software that will work with devices in this mode but it would be nice to stay with iTa/Notpod especially as I have used it with multiple Nokia then Android devices without an issue till now).

I'm finding the same issue with my Note 2, it's almost definitely because it's attached as an MTP device rather than an UMS one. I don't think we can connect using UMS on later model Android phones without custom roms.

Wish I could though!

Help NotPod support?

Nick

Hi Nick, you're correct - Notpod currently does not support MTP devices.

Me, too.  When I try to set up my phone in preferences when it asks me for "Music location on device" if I click on anything the "OK" button greys out and I can't select anything.  Help.

One workaround for this works if you store your music files on the SD card rather than on the phone's internal memory. If you previously moved your SD Card from another phone that worked with notPod to an MTP device like a Galaxy S3, turn off your phone, remove the SD card and put it in the card slot of your computer (assuming it has one).  You may need a microSD to full-size SD adapter for this. Once you mount the SD card on your computer with notPod installed and start notPod, it should recognize the folder where your music is located just as if you had attached the phone to the computer. (It's just looking for the .ita file that it created in that folder when you added the device to notPod.)  Sync to the card, then put the card back in your phone and power up.  Worked like a charm for me.  I just had to rescan in PowerAmp on my phone to refresh the library.  Much better than using a tool like "Easy Phone Sync", which made a complete mess of my music library when I tried it.

This could work with a new SD card too, by adding it as a "New Device" in notPod, but I haven't tried that.  If it worked you would then have to re-point whatever music player you use on your phone to find the new library on your SD card after you sync it and install the card in the phone. No idea if this would work or not, but I don't see why it wouldn't.  Good luck all.

I did this with my Micro SD card that has never been synched with Notpod before. Worked deliciously. I am synched! Thank you!

Like many of you I beat my head against the wall trying to get iTunes Agent  (or NotPad) to work.  Only to find it doesn't, even if I move the SD card directly to the computer the only thing that appears to get moved over is ONE playlist from ITunes.    I have used in the past and just went back to iSyncr.  SUPER easy to use and it works with PMD devices, i.e. it doesn't have to have a window drive letter.  Get iSyncr and stop beating you head against the wall.

I figured out a workaround. Use an FTP server app on your phone then use NetDrive to map a drive to the FTP site. Make sure you disable passive FTP in NetDrive and in case you have any weird filenames set the encoding to UTF-8.

In my case this doesn't work...

New (never used before) Samsung 64GB micro SD card, type Transcend 64GB microSDXC 300x UHS-I Premium Class 10.

Target is Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-19505), Android 4.4.2;

Trying to sync from iTunes 12.01.26 on a Win 7 machine, all uptodate.

Of course before this, syncing failed when directly attempting to the Phone with the SD card inside, using the USB cable connection.
The SD card was visible in Windows explorer, enabling creation of a destination folder for the music files.
