Smartphone doesn't appear in iTunes 'My Devices' folder, unable to sync

Samsung Blaze 4g phone configured under Preferences. SDcard available to Win7 (usb mass storage)
Try 'Synchronize devices . . "; get 'There are no connected devices to synchronize'.

Any ideas?

Same here. Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-19505, Android 4.4.2, trying to sync from iTunes 12.01.26 on a Windows 7 machine.

In iTunes I created a folder with the same name as my Phone, and duplicated my existing playlists into that folder.

But the Phone was not visible in iTunes, nor did notpod find it. (although Windows Explorer did).

Under preferences the exact problem as mentioned in the quoted post.

Anyone having any ideas?
