Yesthey are most certainly 22" & 17" for the front. I replaced mine yesterday. I actually couldn't find the skinny replacement blades, so I got the whole arm thing. I saw they had Rain-X brand, and since my old wipers would stutter sometimes when I used rain-x, I splurged. IMHO it's well worth it. They clear way better and no stutter. My own $.02 though. It rains everyday here this time of year, so it's worth it to me, maybe not you.

I noticed that either on the 04 or 05 WRX that the drivers side arm has some sort of spoiler I guess to keep down force on the wiper at hight speeds... I checked out the tirerack link above and there is a wiper by PIAA that has a spoiler on it. Anyone have any experience with this and does it help?

I am looking to replace my wipers because of the horrible streaking I guess from sitting in port.

I think the stock wipers are just OK. I use Rain-X on my windshield and actually have the Rain-X windshield washer fluid. Maybe I should try the Rain-X wipers too???

I don't know if this makes any sense, but I did it and my wipers seem to work a little better. I cleaned them with an ArmorAll cleaning wipe. And then I wiped them down with an ArmorAll wipe. Definitely no stutter. But still not crytal clear wiping away of all the water. I'll look for the Rain-X wiper blades the next time at Target or some other store that might have them.

The stockers are definitely terrible because they are the original wiper blades. Figure after sitting on the car for 1+ year, they're gonna be a little dead. With new blades, I haven't had any problems with lift off/streaking. I was surprised that the driver's side didn't have a little foil to it (my wrx's did). It probably wouldn't hurt to have a foil on there. I think you can buy just a little air foil if you don't want to buy the PIAAs.

I put some crisco on my blades, and now they dont make any more noise , smooth across , and it was only about 1 table spoon.

I will take some pictures and make a DIY thread for it

yumm.. that crisco smooth blades .....

I just got replacement rubber inserts for the originals at Napa yesterday. The models I got were 60-2200 for driver side and 60-1701 (seems like 60-1700 would fit too) for passenger side. Both fit perfectly and improved things greatly.

The napa computer and wiper cross reference book was a little messed up. It mentioned some trim to fit blades and other things. I ended up bringing in my original blades and trying the above models.

The Saab 9-3 uses different fitting types, styles and sizes of wiper blades depending on the year of manufacture. We supply wiper blades manufactured to the highest quality by the leading brand names designed to fit the Saab 9-3 range of vehicles including: Bosch - Aerotwin & Super Plus, Michelin - Stealth & RainForce, Lucas - Clearvision and our own award winning Aerowiper. Over 400 different windscreen wiper products held in stock - the largest selection of front and rear screen wiper blades - available from the UK's online Wiper Blade Specialist.

The Rainx Expert Fit Rear R-14-B was exactly what I needed for my 2015 Honda Fit. I looked it up using the Walmart App while in the store. I was able to take off the original one and install the new one in a snap. It uses the Rock Lock 3 type fixture.NOTE: This is a 14" blade, but it is NOT for the 14 inch passenger side blade. If you want the passenger side 14 inch wiper blade, you need to get a Rainx Latitude 14 inch model. It uses a J hook, I%26L pinch tab, pins arms, narrow PTB (pinch tab button), or regular PTB. Again, that one is really easy to install.

Rain-X makes some of the best low profile wipers on the market today. The fit and attachments are typically perfect with minimal complexity. The most complex part is sifting through the book to find your vehicle and locate the right size as a result. If you can get through that the rest is cake.

It takes more time to install this wiper blade. I own a Traverse and it requies me to use a hand tool to remove the old wiper. This part doesn't have the extra room to slide and lock the new blade in. It's still comparable.

Minor: Does not fit to wiper arm's hook as both ends of the arm hook opening are straight. Easy to fix by using a round file and filing the other end arc (like original).Major: Blade's support structure is not shaped to fit inside wiper arm (like original). Impossible to fix.

Smearing wiper blades don't always need to be replaced immediately. Often, all they need is a thorough cleaning to start functioning properly again. Performing routine car wiper care also helps extend their working lifetime.

A wiper generally consists of a metal arm; one end pivots, and the other end has a long rubber blade attached to it. The arm is powered by a motor, often an electric motor, although pneumatic power is also used for some vehicles. The blade is swung back and forth over the glass, pushing water, other precipitation, or any other impediments to visibility from its surface. The speed is usually adjustable on vehicles made after 1969, with several continuous rates and often one or more intermittent settings. Most personal automobiles use two synchronized radial-type arms, while many commercial vehicles use one or more pantograph arms.

On some vehicles, a windscreen washer system is also used to improve and expand the function of the wiper(s) to dry or icy conditions. This system sprays water, or an antifreeze window washer fluid, at the windscreen using several well-positioned nozzles. This system helps remove dirt or dust from the windscreen when used in concert with the wiper blades. When antifreeze washer fluid is used, it can help the wipers remove snow or ice. For these types of winter conditions, some vehicles have additional heaters aimed at the windows, embedded heating wire(s) in the glass, or embedded heating wire(s) in the wiper blade; these defroster systems can melt ice or help to keep snow and ice from building up on the windscreen. Less frequently, miniature wipers are installed on headlights to ensure they function optimally.

One of the earliest recorded patents for the windscreen wiper is by George J. Capewell of Hartford Connecticut, which was filed on August 6, 1896.[1] His invention was for "windows of slow-moving craft; but it is more particularly adapted and intended for windows of rapidly-moving vehicles, such as high-speed locomotives and cars, with which it is necessary that the observer or driver should have a clear view of the path or track." Similar to current automotive wiper designs, his invention involves "usually two of these wipers, and they can be secured to the frame below the front board of the vehicle or behind the housing surrounding the window in position to be out of sight and in such manner that one will scrape off the heaviest part of the substance collected upon the glass." His patent illustration shows a circular window, although the patent notes "it is not essential that the glass be circular in form."

Other early designs for the windscreen wiper are credited to Polish concert pianist Jzef Hofmann,[2] and to Mills Munitions, Birmingham, who also claimed to have been the first to patent windscreen wipers in England. At least three inventors patented windscreen cleaning devices at around the same time in 1903; Mary Anderson, Robert Douglass, and John Apjohn. In April 1911, a patent for windscreen wipers was registered by Sloan & Lloyd Barnes, patent agents of Liverpool, England, for Gladstone Adams of Whitley Bay.

American inventor Mary Anderson is popularly credited with devising the first operational windscreen wiper in 1903.[3][4] In Anderson's patent, she called her invention a "window cleaning device" for electric cars and other vehicles. Operated via a lever from inside a vehicle, her version of windscreen wipers closely resembles the windscreen wiper found on many early car models. Anderson had a model of her design manufactured, then filed a patent (US 743,801) on June 18, 1903 that was issued to her by the US Patent Office on November 10, 1903.[5][6]

John R. Oishei (1886-1968) formed the Tri-Continental Corporation in 1917. This company introduced the first windscreen wiper, Rain Rubber, for the slotted, two-piece windscreens found on many of the automobiles of the time. Today Trico Products is one of the world's largest manufacturers of windscreen wipers.[citation needed] Bosch has the world's biggest windscreen wiper factory in Tienen, Belgium, which produces 350,000 wiper blades every day.[9] The first automatic electric wiper arms were patented in 1917 by Charlotte Bridgwood.[10]

Inventor William M. Folberth and his brother, Fred, applied for a patent for an automatic windscreen wiper apparatus in 1919, which was granted in 1921.[11] It was the first automatic mechanism to be developed by an American, but the original invention is attributed by others to Hawaiian, Ormand Wall.[11] Trico later settled a patent dispute with Folberth and purchased Folberth's Cleveland company, the Folberth Auto Specialty Co. The new vacuum-powered system quickly became standard equipment on automobiles, and the vacuum principle was in use until about 1960. In the late 1950s, a feature common on modern vehicles first appeared, operating the wipers automatically for two or three passes when the windscreen washer button was pressed, making it unnecessary to manually turn the wipers on as well. Today, an electronic timer is used, but originally a small vacuum cylinder mechanically linked to a switch provided the delay as the vacuum leaked off.

In March 1970, French automotive manufacturer Citron introduced more advanced rain-sensitive intermittent windscreen wipers on its SM model. When the intermittent function was selected, the wiper would make one sweep. If the windscreen was relatively dry, the wiper motor drew high current, which would set the control circuit timer to a long delay for the next wipe. If the motor drew little current, it indicated that the glass was still wet, and would set the timer to minimize the delay.
