My observation is that when an iPhone has their iMessage turned off and someone else who sends an imessage to that phone, their message would automatically turn to "text" messages instead of imessages. (Whoa, that sounds a bit confusing).
My Facetime worked well, I would turn it off and back on and my number would get selected instantly. And I messed around with it, turning it off and back on to see if it'll automatically choose my number and it did. But I turned it off and on again and now It doesn't choose anything, it just says "Waiting for Activation"
But now after so many attempts of trying to turn it off and back on just to fix this iMessage crap, I can't even sign in to my apple id anymore. It says that I can't sign in and that I need to check my network connection. (I'm using wi-fi. And it's working perfectly fine; My network connection is fine)
I just did this method, and it seems to have worked. I noticed I wasn't receiving iMessages from my overseas buddies on my new phone, but they were coming through on my iPad. My number in grey wasn't ticked. I went through this method and now it is ticked. Thank you!
Tried reset network settings, tried signing out and back in to applie ID in imessage, goes through verification, selected the appropriate phone number, but still shows "No addresses" and the phone number for the phone is greyed out, and unable to be ticked.
In order to get the phone number checked, you must sign out of ALL your apple devices from those services. So if you have more than just the one device you need to sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on all of the device.
Next give your phone a good 2 button reset but pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button until you see the Apple logo. Once it starts back up, sign into FaceTime and iMessage on your phone first. After it's activated and all is good, sign in on the other device.
Hey guys , I got the same problem too . when I turn off n on my iMessage and sign out my apple id , when I sign in again I have my phone number ticked , but it stays on waiting for activation and my phone number is gone from Send & Receive part !!!
So these posts seem a few months, if not a few years old, but I have recently (just this morning) started experiencing the exact same issue. Please can someone help! Here is a list of symptoms and what I've tried:
-tried taking out my SIM card and putting it back in then restarting again. Nothing... nothing I seem to do is working and I didn't even touch the settings in the first place. I literally have done nothing different with my phone that I have so far in the few months I've owned it...

Using them is as easy as dialing a few digits and symbols; the phone will distinguish your actions at once and give you the answers. Keep reading to find out more about these essential cell phone codes and hacks:
Every mobile device has its unique international mobile equipment identity code, or IMEI. Now, the IMEI shortcode has nothing to do with your phone being hacked, but having it saved or written down somewhere safe is a must to file a police report when your device has been compromised. So, before checking any cell phone hacking codes, learn your IMEI by dialing *#06#.
Scammers can catch your incoming calls and then redirect them to a different line. This is known as conditional call forwarding. You should begin to smell a rat when your phone rings once, and there are no other traces of incoming calls. Or you may not even notice any forwarding as it happens when you simply miss the call. By the way, hackers can use this type of attack to forward your messages to another number.
Such activity is harder to spot. A diversion cancels and redirects calls to another line without even allowing your phone to ring. As a result, it never shows up on your phone bill (unlike conditional forwarding when your phone number technically receives the call).

The dialer on your iPhone is much more than just a place to enter phone numbers and place a call. You can use it to enter secret codes to learn more about your iPhone, assist in troubleshooting, and even hide your caller ID during outgoing calls.
Secret codes are Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), strings of characters that developers and technicians primarily use to fix smartphones. In some cases, entering the code initiates an action immediately. But sometimes, you need to tap the Call button to activate it.
If you want to hide your name or phone number and make anonymous calls, use the *67 secret code before the phone number you want to call. This code will hide your caller ID on the recipient's screen. When you call someone, they'll see Unknown, Private, or No Caller ID on their screen. It's one of the best ways to block your caller ID on your iPhone.
Use this code to avoid missing notifications if you get an important call while you're already on a call. This code works with Android as well. In fact, it's one of the top Android secret security codes.
The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is a 15 to 17-digit number that serves as a special ID for the hardware in your phone. You can use this number to locate your lost or stolen iPhone. Service providers can also use the IMEI number associated with a phone to block stolen or lost devices and prevent misuse.
Using this code is much faster than going to Settings > General > About to check your IMEI number or using any other methods to find the IMEI number on your iPhone or iPad.
If your iPhone ran out of battery and someone called you, you might not be notified of missed calls. So, if you want to check your missed calls, dial #61#. You can also use this code to check missed calls if your iPhone didn't ring on incoming calls.
Using these secret codes will save you time and let you access hidden helpful features, unlocking a new level of control and cellular customization. You can use these codes to access advanced settings, troubleshoot device issues, or uncover hidden information.
After buying a used iPhone, you might wonder about its history. When first sold, did it leave Apple as a brand new device or one that had been previously refurbished? Luckily, there's an easy way to tell. Here's how.
If you find that your phone was refurbished, it is not necessarily cause for alarm. Apple puts its Certified Refurbished products through a rigorous process that makes them like-new. They clean each unit thoroughly, replace any broken parts if necessary, and change the battery and the outer shell.
In general, Apple Certified Refurbished products look and operate like brand new iPhones, but for legal reasons, Apple cannot sell them as new. Apple typically offers these refurbished products at a sizable discount, so they can be a great deal.
