Noto Sans CJK JP vs Noto Sans JP

Hi. I noticed that for the CJK languages there are two sets of Noto Sans available. One set has the letters "CJK" in the font name, the other set does not.

For example, for Japanese I can find:

Noto Sans CJK JP

Available here: https://www.google.com/get/noto/#sans-jpan

and

Noto Sans JP

Available here: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Noto+Sans+JP?preview.text_type=custom#standard-styles

I can't tell the difference between them, but they are not recognized as the same font by software such as Photoshop, or Indesign.

This is causing confusion and mix ups with our team that has multiple hubs globally. If there is a difference between the two, it would be helpful to know, so that we can decide on one and stick with it.

   • Weight: It offers 7 weights, including a DemiLight variant.
   • Language Support: Noto Sans CJK JP includes characters for Chinese ©, Japanese (J), and Korean (K). Among these, Japanese characters are prioritized for display.
   • Character Count: This font is more extensive, containing 65,535 glyphs across various writing systems.
   • Supported Blocks: It covers a wide range of Unicode blocks, including CJK Unified Ideographs, Hangul Syllables, Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, and more¹².
