I am having trouble converting Noto Sans CJK from OTF to other usable web font formats (ttf, eot, woff, svg etc). All the online font converters have a size limit. Noto sans CJK is 16mb.

How have others been getting around this? I've scoured the net and come up empty so I'm reach out to this group hoping to find some answers. Thank you in advance!

I think that you will likely need to use something other than a free online service. You can use local tools to do the conversion. One such tool is - https://github.com/google/woff2

Another thing to think about is that delivering a large font to a client such as the full Noto Sans CJK may be too much. If, for example, you are building a page in Japanese then probably want to pick the more specific font - e.g. NotoSansJP. Similarly for Korean, Simplified or Traditional Chinese. These will be from ~4.5 to ~9 MB and that will be big savings over the full font.

Stuart, thank you for the reply. Yes I plan on converting the simplified Chinese version of Noto sans to save on file size. Looks like that link you sent only creates WOFF. Do you know of any way to get a full suite of font formats?

Noto CJK KR should only have the Korean letters, still it is 15MB in size. So weird!

The font files NotoSansCJK-{weight}.ttc contain all of the glyphs for all four of Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese as four separate fonts in the collection. Each of these fonts also has language features to allow for the use of the other languages glyphs.
NotoSansCJK-Regular.ttc = 18.7MB

The font files NotoSansCJK{jp|kr|sc|tc}-{weight}.otf have a single font with all of the glyphs for the specified language but also with all of the glyphs for each of the other languages that are not "blocked" by a glyph from the main specified language. These are smaller than the above fonts and allow for some multi-lingual use. They are useful in systems that don't support control of the fonts language features.
NotoSansCJKkr-Regular.otf = 16.5MB

The font files NotoSans{JP|KR|SC|TC}-{weight}.otf are the most stripped down versions that only have the glyphs for the specified language. These are the ones that you want to use for memory constrained conditions.
NotoSansKR-Regular.otf = 4.6MB
