Jabber notification not working?

I recently created an account on notify.io and I can't seem to get
notifications to pass through to any of my Jabber accounts.
Notifications (tested from multiple sources) appear in the timeline
and can be sent to email, but if set to Jabber, accounts never receive
the notifications despite "notify-io" account being accepted to roster
and having available status.

Is there a temporary glitch in the notification system or is this as
expected?

It looks like the Jabber outlet is only working if you use a Google
Talk account.
Any other client (AIM, etc..) seems to break it. I think this might
have been introduced
by a recent update to app engine. I have the notify code running
locally on an older version
of app engine and it works okay there, but on the live site it breaks.

Hmm..I replied to this message but for some reason it's not showing
up, so
I'll reply again. The problem seems to be when creating using a Jabber
account
that is not a Google Talk account. If you use any other type of client
(AIM, etc...)
the code breaks, but not when using a Google Talk user name. I think
the problem was
introduced by a recent update to app engine, as my version of notify
running locally
on an older version of app engine doesn't have this problem.

Yeah, Google Talk functions properly and should be enough for
my purposes.
