Hello,

I am interested in keeping track of the progress of notify-io, but my inbox tends to get pretty full at times. Would it be possible for a group administrator to enable the "subject prefix" option in Google Groups settings? Something like [notify-io] before each subject would help.

Thanks!

Colin, since you're already using GMail, you can click the drop-down arrow on any email from the notify.io mailing list and click "Filter messages like this".  I have this set up to archive messages and go to a separate label (actually I have multiple mailing lists set up like that) which works really well.

You may have noticed that, in a bit of google group trickery, Colin's
request for the [notify-io] prefix actually included the [notify-io]
prefix. I added it before the message got approved (I'm one of the spam
filter admins).

Good idea, Colin -- the lack of a prefix has been confusing to me for
months. Since I don't use gmail, pre-filtering would be more complicated.

I actually don't use the Gmail interface either, I use Apple's Mail.  It would be easy to set up filtering, but the issue is that I like to see that something is from [notify-io] so when the subject is "Service is down?!?" or something, I don't assume it is one of the applications that I administer.  heh.

I actually didn't know that this was an option in Google Groups until someone from one of my groups suggested it the other day.

Thanks for entertaining the request.
