The Aerospace Engineering Team at the University of Palermo, Italy, works on developing
computational models for materials, structures, fluids & fluids-structure interaction problems, including:
• Multiscale modelling of heterogeneous materials, including evolution of damage and fracture
• High-order modelling of composite materials and structures including plates/shells
• High/medium-fidelity computational aeroelasticity
• Thermo-elastic modelling of hydrogen tanks for aviation
We invite candidates for a joint application under the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
Postdoctoral Fellowships funding programme, to conduct research at the University of Palermo for
12-24 months. With a track record of funded and highly ranked (Seals of Excellence) proposals, we
will support the candidates to submit their proposal to the European Commission.
Expressions of interest for potential proposal co-writing will be accepted until April 10 th, 2026 (EU
deadline for MSCA applications: 9 Sept 2026)
