I generally print to file (generally a pdf) and then send it to staff
for printing on paper, if paper is needed. I have rc set to markup =
'''rst'''. When, with a note open in the GUI, I push Cntrl-h, it
shows a pretty note. However, when, from that point, I press "print"
and then Print to File, its prints to a postscript file.

I would like the option to have it print to a pdf file, if that is not
too much trouble. Staff is not too familiar with printing from a .ps
file, but they use pdfs all the time.

John,

nts calls the operating system printing function which, in the case of linux, produces output in postscript. On my mac, on the other hand, the output is pdf. If you don't want to move over to mac, you could use the system utility 'ps2pdf'. Here's the beginning of the man page:

NAME
ps2pdf - Convert PostScript to PDF using ghostscript
ps2pdf12  - Convert PostScript to PDF 1.2 (Acrobat 3-and-later compati-
       ble) using ghostscript
ps2pdf13 - Convert PostScript to PDF 1.3 (Acrobat 4-and-later  compati-
       ble) using ghostscript
ps2pdf14  - Convert PostScript to PDF 1.4 (Acrobat 5-and-later compati-
       ble) using ghostscript

For some inexplicable reason, ps2pdf doesn't work on my machine (gives
a ghostscript error). But flpsed does. I open a .ps file in flpsed
and export to pdf. OpenOffice light is same a nts. Will only print to
a .ps file.
