two requests, rst

Hi Dan,

Could I make two little nts requests? Could you put the browser into a
resizable window? Also, could you make the default button after pressing
delete on a note, "no", just for safety (no worries if you prefer it the
way it is)?

One other thing: I'm using reStructuredText and find that some things
don't work. The issue of most concern at the moment is changing the size
of an image with the image directive. Neither :height:, :width:, nor
:scale: seem to make a difference. Maybe that's just a limitation of the
built-in browser.

Best wishes,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I'll work on making the browser window resizable.

When you export in rst format, is the output for the image directive correct?

Hi Dan,

Thanks! Yes, the export looks just like in the note.

Alex,

I've checked and the correct html image attributes are being passed to the internal browser but are ignored. Must be a browser limitation as you suspected.

I've made the browser resizable in 76 which is available now.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for this, it's great. Text wraps nicely too.

Hi Dan,

May i make another request? I occasionally write notes in Japanese. In
etm I can enter Japanese characters directly into the command box when
creating a new entry. In a nts note, when I change to Japanese input and
start typing, something unusual happens: a new box pops up wherein i
need to type the japanese words and press alt-enter to put them into the
note. Editing in the separate box is awkward, because the box doesn't
allow one to delete, move forward or backward etc while writing the
japanese text. Could you make it possible to directly enter japanese
(utf-8) characters into the note with the japanese input method? I think
this might improve the use of other language input methods in nts too.

Many thanks,
Alex

Alex,

The 'entry box' you mention seems to be unavoidable with both the styledtextctrl (used by nts) and the richtextctrl (an alternative). The vanilla textctrl (used by etm) avoids the box but doesn't support undo and many of the other editing features possible with the styledtextctrl.

One workaround would be to invoke your external editior, which hopefully avoids the box, using F5 with the note selected. Another would be to create the note in another editior and then paste the contents into nts.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for explaining and trying both textctrls. Yes, i'll use the
external editor and continue practicing using the 'entry box'.

Best wishes,
Alex
