Hello, I'm a Duet display pro subscriber and since last week I cannot use duet anymore on windows, when I launch the app the process starts and runs on windows, but there's no app window runing on the OS or on the tray. I've tried reinstalling and everything and nothing seems to work.
So I was using duet display with windows 8.1, and everything was perfectly fine. However, after I installed windows 10, everytime I install it, for some odd reason it sort of disables my Nvidia drivers. If I uninstall it, then they come right back on. I thought that that means it's not compatible with windows 10, but this article says it is.
Hey, same here. Windows 10 & Nvidia display driver. The condition is once installed Duet Display the Nvidia is not working anymore even though I uninstall the Duet Display and do a clean install for Nvidia. It just messed up and I have to reset the windows in order to Nvidia function properly again. I do emailed to Duet 3 days ago and I'm still waiting their respond.
I use duet display current from windows to ipad and use Wacom as drawing tablet. the duet display is good but it lags only feeding 60fps anything faster and better? I tried spacedesk and xdisplay already
I can't remember if I've recommended Duet Display here before or not, but it's a great app to turn an iOS device into a second screen--extended or mirrored. As you can see in the attached photo, I've got Accordance 12/Mac in the extended display on my iPad Pro. I'm used to using a dual-screen setup at my desk, but this works quite nicely when I'm at a Starbucks where I am right now, working on a Bible study for church.
Duet Display actually works with Windows or Mac computers. In addition to the iOS app (linked above), you also download a program to your computer that needs to be running at the same time that the Duet Display app is running on your iOS device. When using an extended display like I am in the photo below, I can drag windows or other objects between the two screens. The trackpad (or a mouse) works on the extended display just as if it were simply a monitor that the Mac was plugged into. In fact, that's what this app does--it makes an iPad into a second monitor. Of course, any iOS notification will still display on top of the Duet screen, but it doesn't affect anything I'm doing unless I forget and touch the notification. If I do that, the iPad will switch to whatever app sent the notification.
The screen clarity is quite good, too. It's not exactly as sharp as my MBP screen, but it's better than the screen of a MacBook Air. There are multiple resolutions and framerates that can experimented with, and Duet Display will even use the discrete graphics chip in my MacBook Pro to power the display on the iPad Pro.
Hi there. hopefully someone has the answer. I have set up my iPad as a second windows monitor using duet display, installed the desktop version of air manager and am using the G1000 overlay for the PFD which I have popped out of MSFS 2020. However only the mouse currently works despite the input being set to touch and mouse on air manager software. Have I missed something?
Edit: Duet display is what I have been looking for. This program is incredible. Zero lag, pixel, resolution, retina, mirroring options, extend options. Any parameter you'd use with an external monitor you can do except it's touch screen. It allows multitasking in iOS 9. This is worth the 15 bux.
I have just discovered Duet display. This is incredible. If you haven't heard of it look it up. You plug any iPad or iPhone in like you usually would. Launch the duet app on the Mac and iOS device. Choose how you want to extend your macs display. You can use touch screen and everything. No internet connection required. I'm running my faders on the iPad and my plugins on my primary display. Who needs a control surface when you have a program like this?!
2) Plugins you move onto the Duet screen stay there just like if you were using a normal 2nd monitor: if you have multiple things from multiple programs positioned on the duet screen, the active program's pallets will move to the top, if you minimize and app, the pallets will vanish, etc.
3) I'm guessing the app isn't particularly lightweight: while playing an AUM tune, when switching back and forth with the duet app, I had occasional instances where duet (quickly) relaunched itself. But AUM kept playing fine in the background, and in most cases I was able to move bring up Duet between desktop apps without any problems. (This is on an Air 1: on your iPad Pro with it's much larger memory and greater processing power, there should be even fewer problems).
Plugging in a second monitor to extend your computer from one display to two is just about as far from a new concept as you can get, but taking an existing piece of technology and using it as a second monitor temporarily is something of a challenge. Duet Display was the first app to make an iOS device into a 60fps second monitor with touch input for OSX, and it remains one of the best experiences for temporarily extending your desktop setup when you're on the go.
This is by far the most elegant portable multi-monitor display out there today, especially if you're already using an iPad and a laptop on a regular basis. Duet Display is available today in the App Store for $15.99, with the Windows and Mac clients available on the Duet Website.
Unlike what is stated by reset77, the DisplayLink driver on your Windows 10 is using standard OS features... We even co-engineered this with Microsoft: -releases/displaylink-partners-bring-usb-graphics-support-in-latest-microsoft-windows-10-a-129
This is a big problem to a lot of people, the problem is DisplayLink uses its own driver instead of using the windows WDDM 2.0 driver, this make a lot of applications incompatible with DisplayLink products
When I uninstalled the app, it then started saying that there was no app available to use this accessory whenever i plugged it in. In the message it says something about duet display. I went to advanced settings and did not see any Bixby Routines menu in that section. However after rebooting the tablet and the computer now it gives a pop up every time I plug in the device to the computer to open duet display instead of auto opening it. I am new to android so am unsure if I am just missing something.
At best maybe it could display the instructor console or extend the sim's single viewing plane (but given the physical size difference that wouldn't be a great idea), and in both cases if it's a different native resolution than the computer display weird things will happen.
I have been hoping to use Duet Display not as a second monitor for X-Plane 10, but as a second display with maps/frequencies/flight plans/checklists, etc. I'm 99.9% sure this error is on the Duet Display side, as uninstalling the software fixes my issues, but launching X-Plane 10 64bit on Windows 7 with the drivers/software from Duet Display installed causes a BSOD with the message 'page_fault_in_non_paged_area' which seems to be related to 'ddkmd.sys.' Everything I've managed to dig up so far suggests that it's a corrupt driver of some sort. I'd love to get this working with X-Plane (it's been really nice with DCS World and Falcon BMS) and am hoping someone here can help shed some light on the issue. Short of Duet Display updating their software is there a way for me to fix the driver, assuming that is the problem? Is there a way to get X-Plane to completely ignore the second display since I have no intention of using it for X-Plane?
It makes your lightweight tablet or iPad a secondary display for Windows PC or Mac and always keeps your productivity graph high even when traveling. This article is all about how to use Duet Display in a few simple steps.
Duet Display is an app that connects your iPad or tablet to your PC, allowing it to serve as an external monitor. Using Duet Display, you can drag content and windows left and right without pressing the Alt + tab function.
"Duet display is not working?" If you're experiencing this problem, then don't worry. Many users experience problems while connecting their devices through Duet Display. You might get a stuck loading screen at the "Adjusting resolution" or the "Launching Duet" screen on your iPad or your Windows client app might get stuck.
The stuck screen on iPad while starting the app might possibly be due to a timeout error, while if you're getting the error on Windows, it might require a clean installation. Here's how to fix the "Duet display not working" problem.
Press Windows + P and change the display mode from Extended to Duplicate or vice versa. If the display starts working once you change the mode, you can again change it back to your preferred mode.
Open the System Settings app > Displays and click on the Duet device you have connected at the top of the window. Now beside the Use as option, click on the drop-down and change the mode from one to another. If you are on Extended display mode, change it to Mirror mode. Similarly, if you are on the Mirror mode, change it to the extended display mode.
Once done, it can start working by mirroring your screen or using it as an extended display. Now you can change the mode back to the one you need, which hopefully should work as the mode is refreshed.
Duet Display has been around a little over two years. The software enables one to use an iPad or iPhone as a display when connected to a Mac or PC. At first blush, this seems like an expensive way to add a display to a music server, when one can be purchased for a few hundred dollars almost anywhere. However, I had other thoughts. The iPad is versatile and much more aesthetically appealing than any computer display near this price. It's also small and can be run off power straight from the music server (for better or worse).
I originally thought about using an iPad as a display by placing it on my equipment "rack" between the loudspeakers. This display would harken back to the days of placing the large LP cover where it was visible, while playing music. I could connect this iPad to any of my PC or Mac music servers, and place the servers out of visible range. Keep in mind that a wired Lightning connection is required from the computer to the iOS device.
