Actual Notecase Pro 4.4.3 64bit running on Windows 10 64bit (actual patches applied):

Even if I work with a relatively small notecase document (about 300 KB) the memory consumption of the notecase process increases dramatically during the time of work.

Yesterday I ended up with 2 GB RAM occupied by the notecase process. The process reacts slower and slower during this growth.
No other solution possible than to restart the notecase process.
The document won't be damaged by these restarts.

I am able to speed up this behavior if I switch a lot between nodes.

It's not a problem of the document itself - all is well when I work with the same document running MacOS.

Any hints or same experiences from other users?

Best regards
Andre

I fear you have a computer problem that has nothing to do with NCP.  I am also running Win10 x64.   NCP is always open with about 10-12 notebooks in tabs.  They range in size.  I notice that one of them is 20MB (yup, MB).  The NCP memory footprint is currently 114MB.  That is quite light-weight and unnoticeable from the standpoint of system load.

I can't begin to guess where your memory leakage comes from and you have my sympathy.  But it's not NCP.

Arthur

I would agree. I run NCP with 11 notes/tabs open. My NCP system has over 35,000 entries and my NCP a garage footprint is around 350MB. No notable performance issue on Lenovo T460 with 8GB RAM. My desktop normally has at least 10 applications open.

There's an outside chance that the NC Pro installer or executable was
corrupted. To eliminate that possibility, try downloading and
installing again.

For those reporting no problem, are you running the 64-bit or 32-bit
version? The reported malfunction is that it's with the 64-bit
version.

Best regards,

Paul

Hi Andre,

please send me your "notecase_pro.ini" config file, so I can run the tests with the same settings as you have.

Regards,
  Miro

Hi and thanks for your comments.

Seems that I'm the only one with with issue so I agree with you - the problem could be associated to my  Win10 Installation.

I will investigate that this evening.

And I append the requested INI for Miro, but it's quite "normal" without any specialties so far I think…

Best regards
Andre

I'll give it a try, but what you can do is to try to compare your .ini file from Win64 and the one from other platform that works OK.
Perhaps you are using some feature on one installation and not on the other. That could be a crucial info needed to find out the cause of the issue.
You can use some diff tool like "WinMerge" to compare two files easily.

Also, if you reproduce the app being slow due to memory usage, please generate an application log and send it to me.
Perhaps the log will give more clues.
Note that you my use my direct email, logs may contain file paths and other similar private info.
