If auto-save is activated, will it also auto-save if the document has
not changed since saving the last time?
And where is the document auto-saved to?

As I recall, the answer is "no." But Miro would have a firmer memory here than I do.

And where is the document auto-saved to?

On Linux/Unix, to the .notecase subdirectory of your home/username directory. On Windows, to the .notecase subdirectory under Documents & Settings\username. Not sure where it goes if you've done the portable install rather than the full install under Windows.

Best regards,

OK, thanks for the info. I found out that the auto-save takes place
only while editing the document. If I'm no more editing it, the temp-
file in the .notecase directory is not updated any more. That's
perfectly fine and saves as much battery power as possible.

Glad you solved this with Paul's help.
Autosave is saving a copy of the edited document in the "~/.notecase"
folder
only when the document is modified
