I really think we should all push hard for the snow route as their
alternate route for bus 71. That route is a usable route for 71 and
they have no problem making turns from 60th to Stark Street then to
39th and so on... Tri-Met is telling us they do not want to use that
route because it's not snowing (duh) and that it would take them 10
minutes off their route. Tri-Met is also saying that it would be an
inconvenience for the riders of bus 71, but we have not see any riders
come to the meeting and express their inconvenience. The Mt Tabor
community needs to stick together and push for the snow route as the
alternative route as it would take the bus off our neighborhood
streets.

Hey, at the MTNA meeting, didn't Tri-Met Tom say that it was a 5
minute addition running through the current reroute streets, and also
a 5 minute addition running the snow route? So if they're doing the
snow route instead of the current reroute that would only be 5 minutes
- just like what they have now. Did I misunderstand?

I wasn't at the MTNA meeting, but at the meeting at Trimet last Monday, they said the current reroute adds 5 minutes and that the snow route would add an additional 5 minutes to that (10 min. total).

Laura,
aren't we on the snow route?
When we have snow the buses
both school and Tri-Met come down
52nd.

It seems to depend on how bad the snow is.  The true snow route takes them down Stark to 39th, I believe, which is one of the routes the NABR group suggested as a possibility during the reroute.
