With the recent development of the sink hole on 52nd Street, I would
like to propose that we all should contact the City of Portland and
ODOT to encourage them to stop the bus #71 running down our
residential streets. This would give either ODOT or Tri-Met time to
survey our streets to see if there is any other sewage damage on
Taylor, Madison, and 55th, and to see if our streets can support the
weigh of the bus running 123 times per day for approximately 2 years.
Apparently, Tri-Met marketing department did not do their research
prior to re-routing the bus down our street. Because if they did, they
would have found out about the sink hole on 52nd and would not have
routed the bus down that street in the first place. Tri-Met had
already dropped the ball on communication with our neighbors about the
re-routing and now another ball is dropped by their marketing
department because they did not do their research prior to the re-
routing.
