According to the article, Iran does NOT have enough high -enriched
Uranium-235 to make a bomb. The headline is beyond alarmist, it is
an outright lie. Every nation with Uranium ore, and most have some,
has ALWAYS had 'enough' U-235 to make many bombs if you count the
U-235 that has not been separated from the other isotopes!

The low-enriched Uranium Iran is reported to have produced is about
enough to operated a small nuclear reactor for a year. The Nuclear
Non-Proliferation Treaty (NNPT), which Iran and the United States
have both signed, allows Iran to do exactly that.

What Iran has not done is separate enough Uranium-235 from the other
isotopes to be able to make a bomb. While I agree, no insist, that
Iran must not be allowed to make an atomic bomb, exaggerated claims
such as this add to the confusion and hinder responsible non-
proliferation efforts.

This situation may be handled in a responsible, intelligent and
sensible manner by following both the intent and the letter of the
NNPT. That obliges the signatories, including the United States to
cooperate on the development of civilian nuclear power while Iran is
required to abstain from developing weapons and to permit inspections
to prove that they have done so. Thus far, both the US and Iran have
chosen to take advantage of the situation to engage in a dishonest War
of Rhetoric, for base political reasons, instead of keeping their
word. The leadership of both of our nations have prioritized
political posturing over the protection of our people.

Unbelievable!

Here we go again:

Did it even occur to anyone to ask Admiral Mullen exactly
which of the fissile materials he was alleging to be possessed
by Iran, or how Iran had obtained it?

First we are told that Iran has enough fissile material to make
a bomb, but then we are told that Iran is not close to having
a bomb. Those statements are self-contradictory. Obtaining
enough fissile material is the only impediment any nation has
to building an atomic bomb. If *I* had enough fissile material
for a bomb I could build one too!

Low-enriched Uranium is not fissile material and if Admiral Mullen
doesn't know that, then he is not competent to serve as Chairman
of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

A reporter who doesn't know that is also not competent to be
conducting an interview on the subject. And if a reporter is
competent but doesn't press the issue, doesn't demand honesty
from the person being interviewed, then that reporter doesn't
have the moral courage to do his job. Such a reporter is nothing
more than a mouthpiece.

Has the American media learned nothing after eight years of
being lied to by the American Government?

Seeing as I cannot believe anybody is that stupid, I have to reach
another conclusion. Can there be any doubt that CNN is complicit
in yet another campaign of lies and deception? I no longer have
any such doubts.

How about the rest of us? Have we learned nothing after eight
years of the media repeating lie after lie after lie, never
challenging an Administration statement, no matter how
ridiculous, never investigating, never trying to learn, much
less report, truth?
