While the worlds of art and business have traditionally perceived themselves to be opposed to one another (the stereotypical artist think suits are boring and suits thing artists are freeloaders), the author here argues that they actually have a lot to learn from one another.  The most successful artists have been adroit businessmen too (identifying a promising market and selling to it).  Businessmen in turn can make their products more meaningful and communicate better with their peers, customers and employees by taking a few cues from the arts.  Such things ideas can go too far, but I though it was an interesting concept.

Hence why I have come to really value my liberal arts education. I used to make fun of it ("at Yale we learn how to learn”), but the older I get, the more I appreciate the ability to make connections between different fields.

It’s also the reason I loved when you guys started this group. I get to learn about things I would never read about on my own, and I love hearing different perspectives on each topic.

Thank you to all! :-)
