Arduino motor driven bi-directional gears

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I am a newbie in all things Arduino and I would like to some help creating something like this as an Arduino project.

Can anyone give me some direction, please?

I appreciate the link you sent. However, being the super-newbie that I am, I can't find a gear system which would give me the two-way directional output I'm looking for.
