{NSSN | 39} Motion about political priority questions for the GA

Hi everyone!

I hope that everything is fine and that the summer reached even to you!

In one week the General Assambley of OBESSU taking place and therefor I want to
talk to you about the motion we, SVEA and SSUN i norway have wrote togheter.

In the motion we propose OBESSU to start workin with political priority questions.
We think that it is important that each member organization can lobby OBESSUS political statues in their own country. With the wideness of the political platform today it is hard to find something concrete to start work with for all member organizations.  The political platform is far too big to be powerful and we therefore think that OBESSUs General Assembly each year should take political priority questions.  These questions will be what the member organizations are lobbying in their country and these questions give us a political focus each year. If we can say in our country that this is what all students in Europe think is most important this year it will be powerfull and we will have a big chance to influence our government.

This is something we have discussed about between the nordic organizations a lot. And I know that a lot of us feel that we can´t use the political plattform very much today in our own work.
With priority questions we have a big opportunity to bring in questions that is important to us in the nordic countries and we can therefore making lobbywork togheter about this questions! I see a lot of opportunities here to build stronger relations between the nordic organizations!

So, what do you think about the motion? Is it a good idea? We would love to have some response on it,
and if there are things you want to comment on or change. And off course we hope that you also think this is a good idea!

Hi Sofia and to all that gets this mail.

I think this idea is quite good. It is vitally important for  OBESSU´s work to be closely linked to it´s members opinions/work at all times,and currently there are many things concerning that issue that need improvement.

I also agree that a good solution to that problem might be the one you are offering.

In my opinion the effort of having joint campaigns still remains  an obstacle, based on the experience concerning the "light on the rights" campaign.

But this is a good thing for us in order to be in a more sufficient way finely tuned to each others campaigns and emphasis.
