Scalability of CouchDB

Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone has real experience with CouchDb--where they would be able to comment on its scalability. The 2 primary reasons I like it are: package with lift (scala's rails-like framework) and has REST interface. There are some other minor things too. But I have this gut feeling (mainly, because I just recently learned about nosql for data;therefore no experience ;) ) it is not robust enough for non-toy projects. Any comments, thoughts, rants, etc. are much appreciated!
