Not sure if anyone noticed this but I was just re-reading the cassandra and dynamo papers today, and found whole sentences copied from the dynamo one into the cassandra one!

In section 5. of the Cassandra paper the first half of that paragraph is the same as 4. in Dynamo.. and also similarly for 5.1 in Cassandra and 4.2 in Dynamo.

Little odd they did that, but I guess shows where they focused a lot of their reading. I also don't think the Facebook paper is published yet so it's not so bad.

Are you sure it wasn't the uber medeley deduplication algorithm that

Well eventually, that would be quite interesting!

How many papers share sentences.. and where did they originate from? Will let you know if we ever figure that out.
