Howdy folks,

Reminder that we have space at the NERD Center tonight from
7pm-8:30pm. We're starting the discussion focused on key-value systems
and these papers:

http://nosqlsummer.org/paper/cassandra
http://nosqlsummer.org/paper/amazon-dynamo
http://nosqlsummer.org/paper/eventually-consistent

thoughtbot is buying dinner again. I've ordered food for ~30 people again.

See you then!

Dan

Dan,

I'm thinking of attending for the first time. I've been following the group, but have been on the road a lot. Just want to confirm that the names of those on this list are at the door. I'd hate to trek in town and be turned away. If not, I'm easy going, that's OK.

Thanks,
Bob

Yup, everyone's good. Last time they just gave us a blank list,
actually, and had people sign in.

Thanks again for Thursday's meeting, Dan. After seeing a few links to
topics we discussed tossed out over the weekend, I thought I'd add a
few of my own:

1) Riak is the Dynamo-like system that I work on. It is similar in
many ways to the system described in the Dynamo paper, so if you're
looking for an implementation to use or play with, I recommend
checking it out:
http://www.basho.com/Riak.html

2) I mentioned a benchmarking tool that we use: basho_bench.
http://bitbucket.org/basho/basho_bench
http://wiki.basho.com/display/RIAK/Benchmarking+with+Basho+Bench

3) Chef came up as a way to automate server configuration and setup:

4) Dan suggested Hudson as a useful testing tool:
